As I drove up for service, one of your technicians noticed a different noise coming from my Mini. It was the timing belt. Not only was all of the problems fixed, but your mechanic saved me from additional problems with the timing belt. Joe was teriffic, as was all of your staff. 2.5"I felt pressured to do work on my car that I did not want to do. I also thought I let the representative know that there were things she suggested that I did not want done that were carried through. When I called the dealership at 4:15 to get an idea of whether I would have to make arrangements at work to pick up my car I learned that some of what was holding up my car were things I did not want to have done at the dealership. In the end, I felt as though I spent a few hundreds dollars that did not seem necessary and I did not want to have done- mainly an overpriced wheel alignment during winter in the Northeast. This has not been characteristic of Habberstad in the past, but as I brought my car in for the auxiliary water pump recall it also happened to be the first time I had work done since my warranty was expired." 1.5"Nearly EVERY TIME I bring my MINI in for service it isn't fixed the first time. This is my third MINI in ten years and it has always been this way. I have brought my vehicle in for service in the past stating a noise (or something like that). I'm told they can't find any problem and two days later I get left on the side of the road broken down. When I took my Mini to my regular dealership I was told they should have been given to me as a courtesy, and that it was most likely Habberstad's service department that stripped them. 1.0"Water pump failed at 36K miles. I was on the phone with the service people and they felt the car was safe to drive as is. It was not. Engine had zero coolant and the proff of this was that it had zero heat. So I put some conventional coolant in for the 50 mile drive to Habberstad. Had I not, there would be an engine replaced instead of a water pump. I was not informed by service person on phone that adding Prestone would cost me $230 out of pocket for an engine flush. I also had to pay 75$ out of pocket for an oil change on oil that had clearly overheated. Sp $3-5 out of pocket for a defective part that should have lasted 200K miles. Ironically, I had just referred someone to Habberstad earlier that week and they purchased a Countryman AWD. Never again. One should not incur expenses like this whine the car is fully warrantied. OH, I was provided with these expenses up front, so I could have opted to void my warraty by not doing the coolant flush or seriously wearing the engine by using overheated oil. I waited in comfortable area and the car was finished in a timely manner. They washed my Mini which probably took as long as the service.
